Oklahoma and Texas (could) rule the Pac 12 - every year we hear about how solid this conference is - how it is strong top to bottom - and maybe that is so because there isn't a great deal of difference between the top and bottom - USC gets attention because they are USC - Oregon had a great run and now they are on a real downswing - Washington typically is almost always a solid team - Stanford is the one program that seems to relevant every year - however, and I don't remember for sure, didn't Stanford garner a similar amount of pub for upsetting USC in '07 as we did beating Michigan? -

Step 1 for the shift to four 16-team leagues. And that relationship between Oklahoma and Texas isn't exactly rosy. I expect to see Oklahoma and Kansas to the SEC. Texas and (oh, idk) Texas Tech/Baylor to the Pac 12. And so on, and so on. There will be a few left-overs like Iowa St, Kansas St, etc who will be left out. They either move to form a new G5 super league (from a weak bargaining position) or scatter to various G5 conferences.

My fear of all of this is it effectively solves the problem P5's have been worried about, which was "how do we keep G5s out of the pictue?" and keep the playoff at 4 teams - the four P4 league champions.

And that type of scenario, among others, is one of the reasons the G5's have been having discussions among themselves for a while now. As stated, reports are that nothing is off the table for the G5's right now. Not much fans can do but sit back and watch but this is far from over.
