Re: Curt Cignetti teams....
Id honestly be surprised if he jumps. Just signed an 8 year contract through 2032. Current year is 8 mil. 72 mil total. He can sit in the big 10 and deal with Ohio state each year or go to the cess pool sec for a couple more mil.
I also wouldn't underestimate Indiana money.

Why go to Penn State? They will never be satisfied with his results. Indiana is taking care of him with lots of money. Everything you do at IU makes him god. They will appreciate him there regardless for the rest of his career. No brainer if I were him.

Re: Curt Cignetti teams....
He is a Pitt grad. His ego will definitely consider that job heavily if offered. A graduate of Lil brother school gets opportunity at Big Brother school... Right up his ego ...

Re: Curt Cignetti teams....
Cig has a huge ego and will think he can fix PSU. And he might. If i were a betting man i would wager he will be in happy valley next year as the highest paid coach in the land.

Agreed. He's a PA boy, He'll go home and get a few million a year bump in pay.
Looked at their remaining schedule and while nothing is guaranteed, they should win out. No OSU or Michigan. They do visit Happy Valley on 11-8

Re: Curt Cignetti teams....
If I’m PSU, I’d put all my chips on the table to get Cignetti….. he’s already a proven winner at IU….. crazy to say that. He’d kill it at PSU but it won’t come cheap. They’ll have to offer something around $11-12 M plus whatever he wants for asst pool, NIL, rev. share. While it took him awhile to get a D1 HC job, his rise and unrivaled success is nothing short of stunning. At PSU could contend regularly for a National Championship. There aren’t lots of those around.

Re: Curt Cignetti teams....
Indiana’s athletic budget is 20% larger than VTs.
Then there’s the TV deal discrepancy:
The Big Ten has a significantly larger media deal, valued at over $7 billion and projected to pay out more than $82 million per school, while the ACC's deal is valued at approximately $3.6 billion and has a complex revenue distribution with a cap around $20.5 million for even distribution and an additional 60% for performance-based rewards. This financial gap is a primary driver of conference realignment talks, as the Big Ten's deal provides much more money to its members
