AE signed by the Browns
Just in case those who read the "Browns are working out AE" don't check back; from internet and twitter reports he has been signed by Cleveland. Congrats to him and I hope he finds a good home and that Chud will use him. Be great to see him on the field.

Re: AE signed by the Browns
Cleveland just gained a ton of App State fans. I'm sure the Ohio State fans will gladly welcome him to the buckeye state.

New Browns fan here. Just please somebody give this guy some f*****g snaps. You will not be sorry. He'a a better receiver than Lafell but it just wasn't going to happen in Charlotte. I am just incredibly thrilled he is out of Charlotte and NC.

Re: AE signed by the Browns
Great news for Armanti. I sure hope he catches on and stays in Cleveland. According to the attached web site, guess who plays in Carolina next year????

I wonder how many Browns jerseys would sell in NC?

Fantastic for AE!
I'm now a member of the Dog Pound, too! Hope he can get on the field, which was his problem with the Canthers.

Me too! I have a double reason for being a Browns fan because their punter Spencer Lanning is a York High boy who punted and kicked for us! I may have to get me one of those dog noses to wear next Sunday!PhillyApp1 wrote:I am now a BROWNS Fan
GO AE...kick some NFL A$$
The really nice possibility would be the Browns vs. Broncos and AE catch the game winning TD to beat John Fox. How cool would that be?
We don't slide at Appalachian State. It's a sign of weakness.

Go Browns!! Wait, what the hec is a brown? Sounds like a color or stain to me. They have Ugly helmets. Their uniforms look funny too...but if Armanti Edwards wears it, then I say Go Browns!! Road trip to Cleveland anyone?

ROADTRIP?
When? Let's wait and see if they play him. Will AE be the #3 WR?

Re: AE signed by the Browns
From The Cleveland Plain Dealer ---
"BEREA, Ohio – The NFL trade deadline passed quietly for the Browns, but the club made a series of transactions Tuesday, which included placing Travis Benjamin on injured reserve and signing his potential replacement.
The Browns added receiver-return man Armanti Edwards, who had played the past three seasons for the Carolina Panthers, and signed offensive lineman Reid Fragel off the Cincinnati Bengals practice squad. The club also re-signed oft-waived receiver Tori Gurley to the practice squad.
Edwards, 25, has connections to the Browns having played under Browns coach Rob Chudzinski, who served as Carolina’s offensive coordinator the past two years. The team might consider using him as a returner after losing return ace Benjamin to a season-ending knee injury on Sunday. On a team struggling to generate offense, Benjamin’s loss was significant given the field position he could provide on returns. Benjamin opened the season as the team’s primary punt return and was recently returning kickoffs, as well.
Edwards has returned 36 punts for a 7.0 yard average and 15 kickoffs for a 19.7 yard average. Edwards (5-11, 191) has no touchdowns. Chudzinski said Monday the immediate plan was to use embattled Davone Bess on punt returns.
In 38 NFL games, Edwards has five receptions for 121 yards, none this season. His name should be familiar to Ohio State fans. The former Appalachian State quarterback led the Mountaineers to a pair of I-AA national titles and a famous upset over Michigan, 34-32, in 2007.
The Panthers drafted him in the third round of the 2010 NFL draft with designs on converting him into a receiver and returner. He’s not become the impact player the Panthers thought they were drafting, however. They waived him on Oct. 8 just weeks after coach Ron Rivera called him the MVP of training camp. He appeared in four games this season."

Re: AE signed by the Browns
Great news! I have been a Browns fan since the 60s. Just a word of wisdom to you newcomers...you have to be damn loyal to be a Browns fan!
But they are showing some improvement this year. Maybe trading Trent Richardson wasn't as dumb as I thought. I guess we'll see in the draft.
