Re: NCAA loses ability to control NIL in court
You start to see those interviews with former college stars who are more open about the money they were paid. It's really hard to imagine 18-23 year olds being genuinely happy about teammates who are making 6 figures while they are all technically college students. Even at the big schools you've go...

Re: NCAA loses ability to control NIL in court
I really believe that interest in college sports will fall off and then ESPN will panic and try to fix the whole mess. By then it may be too late. It really is odd that the people making all the money off college sports don’t view this as an issue. NIL could work but a flat out uncontrolled free fo...

https://twitter.com/appstatesports/status/1758605942780842292?t=ZkuQxrzSy8WweMkG5Gb__A&s=19 Didn’t Lamm leave the program at one time only to have Coach Moore talk him into coming back? If so what a great turn around, from leaving the program, to returning, to becoming a long time NFL player and no...

Also, at the risk of being accused of being "woke" or seeing something that isn't there, it sure is interesting to look at the faces of the head coach, offensive coordinator, and special teams coordinator, and compare those to the defensive coordinator. Juuuuuust sayiiiiin.... Using the same “logic...

Re: Wilks Fired
Scape goated. F' Shanahan. You can't bring a guy in, micro manage his balls off, then blame him for issues in schemes you made him run. You also can’t give the ball to Patrick Mahomes for the final drive to win the game. When the 49s took the ball to start overtime they had to get 7. Really poor de...

I would really, really, really, like to see us have a special teams coach. Since drink left we have been in the mode of just surviving special teams plays. I know it’s a budget thing but you can win and lose games on special teams plays.

Re: 2024 Spring Ball
I think the other thing we learned last year is that practice Joey and GAMEDAY Joey might be 2 different people. Not saying he doesn't practice hard or prepare but sometimes how you act on gameday doesn't translate in practice. He was neck and neck with Burger in practice but the stats in the elon ...

Re: 2024 Spring Ball
What are the key question marks folks are looking to address during spring ball? OL replacements DL depth Those would be my biggest question marks. Also excited to see who emerges as QB2. GO APPS!! Any remote possibility we end up without our current #1 QB? Why did the Texas QB come?, likey not to ...

The Ivy League would survive without them.

Re: Cabral to WVU (Eric McDaniel is replacement)
Do we pay that much more for a lat move, or is this a case of the new guy putting his own staff together? It appears that he wasn’t asked to join Sumrall at Tulane nor was he retained by the new coach. As it was explained to me, the number one job for any assistant coach is to stay employed. The pa...

Re: September 7, 2024
Except for losing the game me and my crowd had a great time at the last Clemson game. We went out in Greenville the night before and didn’t encounter any obnoxious fans and the Clemson fans we ran into at the tailgate treated us really good. We’re planning on going back this year.

Re: Unlimited transferring is coming
There are approximately 11,000 D1 players every season (130 teams x 85 scholarships)- ignoring the walk-on guys. Of that number how many are getting significant NIL money? I don't know what would count as significant, maybe $100k per? Is this public knowledge? Every scholarship player on Utahs team...

Re: Unlimited transferring is coming
I think this could contribute to more parity as really good players won't want to ride the pine at the big boy schools. You could see a huge percentage of those rosters turning over every year. I agree. The numbers don’t change. There are only so many spots on a roster for scholarship players. Whil...

Re: Unlimited transferring is coming
When more and more people lose interest and the cash cow goes away the big money will try to fix the issue. But college sports may have gone the way of NASCAR by then. I’ve only missed a handful of App home games in the last 25 or so years and I’m starting to get tired of the transfer and NIL crap a...
