Re: Vol Football (Aguilar watch)
The money wasn’t the motivating factor. It was good money and it was closer for his family to see him, but that was his opportunity to get to the next level. He’s doing well financially at Tennessee as well. He loves it, the fans love him. But make no mistake, he loves App. He is looking to get a h...

I can think of 1.2M reasons why he went to UCLA.
And I say that as a big fan of Joey and his family and happy he's doing so well.

Re: Does culture matter anymore?
My biggest fear with the NIL/portal era was that the "rich" would get richer. I was concerned that talent would get concentrated not just in the P4 but in blue blood programs. But that hasn't happened. Indiana, Iowa State, Vandy and Georgia Tech are all 5-0. If Indiana can compete in the Big 10, Ap...

Our culture: Self-reliance and resourcefulness Appreciation for each other and the area Supporting each other/team over self Grounded in traditional family and often religious values Pretty much the opposite of the direction of CFB today. I read your list as if I'm not mistaken as general universit...

Re: Does culture matter anymore?
Do you believe the power schools and content providers need the G6? The answer to the questions likely informs where you think our place in CFB will ultimately land. I think the lower level P2 or P4 schools do need us and as things settle we'll be competitive with the rest of the G6 programs. If I t...

I'd like to see their position on moving up when we did, my assumption is they weren't pro-FBS in 2010-2012.

There's a fully funded joke in there somewhere.
I do hope the demand remains to make this feasible.

Re: Does culture matter anymore?
The days of competing with the top 40 teams in a given year is much less likely in the current setup. BUT We should be competitive with our SBC peers three out of four years (>.500 in conference) and competitive with the top G6 programs (9+ wins) one of four years at a minimum. There will be cycles ...

Re: Boise Discussion - 7:30pm
That joke has become such a part Cabin lore along with ice in stadium cups and Q talk that it always suprises me how everytime its made there is someone trying to correct the record. But I guess that is because I'm an old fart who has been here since long before that game was not played. Great list...

Re: Boise Discussion - 7:30pm
This is a question for those who have either played football, coached football or simply know the game well: Do you believe that if App had a solid quarterback with a solid OL and DL, that issues at other positions could be worked through? Is my thinking over simplified by saying the OL, DL and qb ...

Re: Boise Discussion - 7:30pm
When you don’t have a talent advantage and in reality completely overmatched that really limits your playbook. That makes the play calls more predictable and frustrating for fans. We are in a vicious cycle until the talent level and depth improve. Oregon State, ODU, and JMU have more talent and dept...

Re: Boise Discussion - 7:30pm
If we had two more quality lineman and healthy Roberts we’d have an offense that could be good enough to go 8-4 with this schedule, it’s very weak.
With what we have today it’s likely a 4-8 season.
That’s how thin the margin of error is in the SBC right now.
