Re: RIP Legends

Honestly, where the location is, it kind of makes sense to have another parking deck there. I know we hate parking decks, but we also hate not having parking. I never visited Legends my entire 5 years at App for what it's worth though.

Re: Double decker bus

Yeah especially on Pop 105, generally it filled up at University Highlands (no clue if it's still called that) and everyone after was screwed. Hopefully this helps solve those issues. My two core memories of the Appalcart are sliding down the road sideways right in front of the old brown apartments ...

Re: “App State Brew” Newsletter

3 times a week is a LOT. Maybe there's more going on than I know about it, but I feel like a weekly or even a monthly might have been better served for the space. Pretty interested to see what they look like. Also, random aside and not to hack the thread, but does anyone know if the yosefclub@appsta...

If I remember correctly, I think our line last year was 8.5. How any oddsmaker puts these together anymore is beyond me with all the crazy variables.

They want to be professionals, tax any dollar above the cost of the scholarship.
Is it not already? I can't imagine a scenario where it isn't viewed as taxable income by the IRS as it stands now but if there's a loophole to find, I'm sure they've found it.

Re: Happy Opening Day!

Anyone got any ballpark trips planned for this year? I've been to the Padres, Nationals (3x), Red Sox and Mets with my family in recent years. Summer travel plans still TBD this year, but would love to visit 1-2 stadiums. Got to the Athletics, Wrigley, and White Sox last year. Planning to get to Ca...

Re: Another domino has fallen NIL

I'm glad to see they made Scholarships/Yosef Club the #1 priority in the "App State Athletics Comprehensive Excellence Priorities." I have yet to see a valid reason why an individual would want to donate to NIL at our level outside of tax purposes. Although, this seems to point to the fact that we k...

Well the good thing is, they're worse on offense! Looks like we're coming into our own finally.

As a die-hard App fan, I would live in a shack by Eagle Creek for a million a year. I'd also retire after 5 years and go live in a shack by a beach with hopes the salinity in the air would keep all the infections I picked up during my 5 year stint in Statesboro in remission.

Re: Ohio State $37 million operating deficit

I'm aware it's not apples to apples, but I'm sure our deficit is somewhere on the same page adjusted for the ratio of inflow:outflow. It sort of feels like any donated money with this new and great system is essentially throwing it into a tornado. Maybe some of it will land at home, most of it is go...

Re: Dowell's assistants

All this talk about resources actually makes me less inclined to donate more. It's got to be a tough sell. I'll still donate for those few that actually appreciate the scholarship, but why in the world would I donate 5 million when the bigger schools are most definitely going to donate 6 million to ...

So how low is everyone setting the bar for next year before they stop having fun? Are we moving the goalpost again?
I went back and analyzed our losses for next year. The fact of the matter is, we didn’t lose a single game against teams who were .250 or better.

Who was doing the "Welcome to the Rock" and do we have a list of who had done this over the years since we stopped using Sean Connery?
I'm not entirely sure how they were chosen, but it was 3 superfan guys who rarely miss a game. They tailgate in the same lot with us.

Honestly, I still think it should be raised. I believe 7-5 should be minimum to make a bowl. Being .500 is mediocre and does not deserve a reward.
Agreed 100%, especially with 1 FCS win counting towards eligibility.
