Re: Apps In The Pros Mega Thread
I didn’t see this posted here but SJC signed with Seattle for this season. An absolute menace in our secondary. Seattle has an excellent defense, if he can see regular starting time there it’ll be awesome for him. https://www.cbssports.com/fantasy/football/news/seahawks-shemar-jean-charles-heading-t...

Re: Memphis Attempt to Enter Big 12
My two takeaways: 1. I feel for them. They’ve performed in athletics. 2x runner up in the NCAAB tournament. Played in NY6 bowls. Put some legit dudes in the pros. Reasonably large tv market. THROWING a money at a “barely P4” conference, yet stuck surrounded by a bunch of never-will-be’s. Watched alm...

Re: Dowell Loggains SI Article
Agree it was the author, not Loggains making that Arkansas reference. Now that I think about it, It appears that most Alumni don’t actually work out as HC. Maybe it is the pressure, internally and externally, that creates the rifts. Great article on subject. Here is a key quote that we all should r...

Re: Dowell Loggains SI Article
Appreciate you sharing the article, but besides it being poorly written, it was a pretty depressing account of what the current landscape is. And should DL enjoy any success he’s outta here with the first good offer. What’s depressing about it? Sounds like a microcosm of American life to me. And ye...

Re: Texas State "heavy favorite" to join Pac-12, LaTech favored to join Sun Belt
For what it’s worth, the absolute primeval reaction on Twitter/CFB Reddit, etc, to this move, is actually why it’s a fun add. I get that they don’t excite us but half the conference is ready to go to war. Which is really what college football is all about. Oh I think we all know there are fans who ...

Re: Texas State "heavy favorite" to join Pac-12, LaTech favored to join Sun Belt
I would rather stay at 13 perpetually than add Tarleton State or some other random FCS school.
Adding for the sake of it is what got the American athletic and conference USA into the current situation they are in.
There is no urgency here.

Re: Texas State "heavy favorite" to join Pac-12, LaTech favored to join Sun Belt
vI am also assuming that being there is good if we are in same division with ECU, Memphis, Tulane, etc. I hate the idea of playing in a conference so spread out, we don't do well traveling west of the Mississippi River. I like the footprint of the SunBelt but I agree that Gill is not an impressive ...

Re: Preseason Projections
Yes , again , you build your roster anew each year .But no , I don't see expectations being lower.Perhaps we are jaded and used to winning .I know I am. You can put me in the camp of having way lower expectations as a result of the changing landscape. To be clear I obviously want us to win. I just ...

Re: NIL and future of NCAACF
Appalachian is different, Appalachian beat Michigan when no one thought that was possible. Appalachian beat Texas A&M when no one thought that was possible as well as Marshall beating Notre Dame and Georgia Southern beating Nebraska. They can compete and we can compete. The only way we would not be...

Re: Gillin said we're gonna play Western in football soon
Glad to see this scheduled. College football at its best is when it embraces its history and pageantry.
It was a lopsided rivalry but a rivalry nonetheless. I hope Western brings a good sized crowd and we hammer them again, but I’ve honestly found myself cheering for them in FCS the past few years.

I doubt that they will be able to require classes. Some kid will sue claiming that the school doesn’t require other employees to attend class, so why should an employee hired to play football have to attend class. Once they’re employees, college athletics is truly done. I think college athletics wi...

Re: App Transfer Portal 2025 - OUT
The Transfer in thread and new coaches thread are completely blank every day. The transfer out thread has massive talent leaving every day. I'm here for the doomerism. Next season shaping up to be a f*cking bloodbath. It appears players and coaches have no interest in this program anymore. We'll on...

SC is gonna go down to Florida and live in a nice home, clearing +$500k a year without any of the stress of running a program. Just gets to coach what he knows and loves. Happy for him.

Ultimately, doesn’t really matter what our out of conference record is because no one from Sun Belt is getting an at large. You want to see them get better and compete in conference to have a chance to win tournament. They seem to be getting better. Still have the long stretches of no baskets. Hell...

Re: Dowell Loggains
All I needed to hear:
“We should have been playing this last weekend.”
Dead. On. I don’t care how tough the Sun Belt got. Hoping to be competitive in the division or getting in the championship on a technicality ain’t it.

Also, not to nitpick here, but something that really bothers me is that whoever designed this didn't even edit the USC stadium out of Loggains' glasses. You can still see the burgundy/red endzone and everything. I've worked in marketing for nearly a decade now and these sorts of things, the lack of...
