Although now ancient history, for many of us around in the late '70's, the worst loss in memory was the loss to the UTC Mocs in 1978, a whopping 72-14 shellacking. Do you think I might be possible for a team like Appalachian to beat an Alabama--or even a Michigan, for example--on a blocked field goal? Those basic English rules seem fundamental to me. I think I first learned them in elementary school--3rd or 4th grade--if not earlier.

I was also taught to read the questionable sentence aloud to myself. If it sounds funky, then it may be time for a rewrite.
