Re: Dowell Loggains SI Article

Agree it was the author, not Loggains making that Arkansas reference. Now that I think about it, It appears that most Alumni don’t actually work out as HC. Maybe it is the pressure, internally and externally, that creates the rifts. Great article on subject. Here is a key quote that we all should r...

I'd like to be the first to say I knew Tre Lamb should have been the guy!
Trolling EricSaid? He was so far into Lamb that he essentially stopped posting when we went in another direction.

Yeah, this seems like a big missed opportunity to fund raise.

New Coach rankings

Just saw this and I have to say that I was very surprised how low they had our guy ranked. At the end of the day it is just a meaningless ranking, but thought I would share it anyways. https://www.yardbarker.com/college_football/articles/ranking_all_the_new_head_coaches_in_fbs_for_the_2025_season/s1...

That's a nice award, but if he doesn't start winning more it won't matter at all and he will be gone.

Re: Texas State "heavy favorite" to join Pac-12, LaTech favored to join Sun Belt

Lots of good ideas here, just need to see what schools are available. I still expect the AAC schools to be available once their media deal is over. The remaining schools just don't have the clout to bring in the numbers that they currently enjoy. But if you add some of those schools with some Sun Be...

House of Reps bill on NCAA issues

New bill in the House, not expected to prevail in the Senate, would be good news for many on here. Among other things, a prohibition against using student fees for athletics, antitrust exemption (probably partial), preemption of state law on NIL, and prohibition about student/athletes being employee...

Re: Texas State "heavy favorite" to join Pac-12, LaTech favored to join Sun Belt

I'm perfectly fine with LaTech. The west members did the east a solid in adding ODU, JMU and Marshall in exchange for SoMiss. If this helps them sell some tickets out of pure hatred, go for it. Worked for the east. IMO, trading Sun Belt Texas State for LaTech isn't a downgrade. Outside of track and...

I've never been more concerned about our dline headed into a season.
That says a lot considering the mess it was heading into last year.

Re: Title IX Lawsuits

There will have to be a 180 degree turn for universities to allow student/athletes (can we still call them that?) to be considered employees and have the right to unionize. Time will tell but I don't see it happening.

Re: Staff Reductions Coming To ADs

It wasn't broke so they fixed it. The Supreme Court actually said it was broke, in a unanimous decision. Like it or not, in our country that means that it was broke. We will just have to disagree on that one. Honestly, what is there to disagree with? My post was not an opinion; it is a fact. The Su...

Re: Title IX Lawsuits

The House settlement is not enforceable and will be challenged in court even more just like what those SFA women did. I don't like the mess either and I don't want to lose Olympic sports but if giving them up allows us to keep the 3 most important sports financially then it will have to be done. Th...

Re: Title IX Lawsuits

Title IX is no more of a restraint of trade than the House settlement itself is. That being said, not sure Title IX really applies, but if the courts rule that it does, I do not see that as inconsistent with the Sherman Antitrust Act. If the court rules that the "revenue share" must be equally shar...

Re: Title IX Lawsuits

The Title IX lawsuits were inevitable. But they aren't going to force anything other than counter lawsuits from the revenue producers because if Title IX applies to revenue distribution then it is directly contradictory to the Sherman Antitrust Act. There can be no sharing of revenue that isn't an ...

Re: App State hires new assistant GM

No one was complaining. What you took as complaining was in fact the reality of the current situation. Because it wasn’t what you wanted to hear, you called it complaining, or as others have used the term “excuses”. The “ideas” that you were asking for weren’t what you wanted to hear. To keep thing...
