A lot to reasons in these breakdowns to appreciate the work Doug Gillin and his staff have done.

Re: Eastern NC BBQ

Am planning to attend the Braves-Reds baseball game in Bristol in a couple of weeks and am considering trying Ridgewood Barbecue (about 10 minutes from Bristol Motor Speedway). Anybody know if it’s any good?

Re: QB1 battle?

I’m kinda expecting us to struggle through our early season games, maybe even against Lindenwood (a team nobody knows about but has been competitive against the good FCS programs that we do know about). I’m hopeful the back half of the season will see us returning to form.

Re: CJ Huntley

Something I didn’t know until yesterday is NBA teams can sign only two players to two-way contracts, increasing CJ’s chances of playing in the NBA. (He can play in a maximum of 50 NBA games next season.) The Suns had two late second-round draft picks and made it known they planned to take CJ with on...

Re: Staff Reductions Coming To ADs

So, now we have went from we need to cut staff as we have bloat and they can take on additional responsibilities (do not need a certain amount of assistant coaches in various sports)...to now they need to work 100 hours just to do the job they were hired for...make it make sense🤣🤣🤣🤣 I was throwing ...

Really horrendous decision just now by the home plate umpire to eject the Coastal coach.

Re: 2025 Baseball Mega Thread

Just a hunch (and only a hunch) but I’m guessing Cross is dealing with a physical issue and that our coaches wanted to give him maximum time to work through. He hasn’t been himself in a month and that would explain the puzzling reason to push him back a day.

Re: 2025 Baseball Mega Thread

Pitching didn’t beat us tonight. What did us in were a collective 0-for-11 from the meat of our order (Zamora, Miller and Correa) and those three line-drive double plays. All three could have been avoided with just a smidgen more situational awareness.

Re: 2025 Baseball Mega Thread

Church isn’t having his best season but we still have 15 conference games left. I like his ability to spray the ball around (despite that unusual stance).

Need a lefthander with pop to split up the Miller-Correa righthanded combo. Who would you rather bat cleanup?

Re: Spring Game Weather

Here’s my take: — Leon looked great. If you don’t count tight ends, he might be our best receiver. — Kohl looked great in the first half. Swann looked great in the second half. Both are quality quarterbacks. — Gillon was surprisingly effective and elusive. Needs to add bulk to his frame but should p...

Re: 2025 Baseball Mega Thread

If we could play all nine innings today, I’d say we have a decent chance of getting back into the game. Unfortunately it doesn’t look like we’ll play all nine.

Re: 2025 Baseball Mega Thread

Here’s what I saw: Three (definitely attractive) App coeds got into a shouting match with four (equally attractive) ODU coeds early in the second game. I’m guessing all seven were somehow connected to their respective baseball teams. I’m also guessing alcohol played a big role. The shouting was inno...

Game One attendance: 1,088
Game Two attendance: 361

Hopefully the three “ladies” who got booted from the second game yesterday won’t be allowed to return to Smith Stadium this season. We don’t need that kind of App supporters.
