This is interesting. Could we get a bigger payout this year. I think we have a real chance to jump the Mountain West this year if the process is fair and looks at results ad rankings.

We are in need of someone to take over the maintenance of the MMB. Yosef has done it for a long time, and we are grateful for all he has done, but life happens and he no longer has the time to devote to its upkeep. If anyone here is interested in helping to keep the board running, please let me know via DM.

Re: SunBelt continues to win -
I was tired of hearing about them being undefeated in this bastardization of a season. They kept crowing about somehow "breaking all of our records". 11-1 is a sorry second to 13-1, two wins against big time P-5s, and a true conference championship. The cards fell right for them this year - they mad...

Re: Key to understanding this season
"I have expected my staff to perform throughout the pandemic - through changed work conditions, remote work, new programming and funding, etc. They know my expectations and have always exceeded them. There are no excuses. This situation has offered opportunities to innovate and perform. As other en...

Re: Stink, Stank, Stunk, and a must win.
I am just wondering how many of your guys who know all the "problems" and speculate on all the answers to resolve those "problems" have ever coached or played at a level above pee-wee, If you have been a coordinator or a head coach or have sat in on film sessions and game planning? If you have, ple...

Re: Key to understanding this season
Drink did a phenomenal job of getting bye-in from a new team and coaching them up to execute nearly flawlessly over and over again. He called the plays and did it well. Satterfield also had the ability to adjust his game plan and though we talked "we run the ball", when he needed to (often in big co...

Re: Stink, Stank, Stunk, and a must win.
I am amazed at all the excuses people are making for poor play. As a counter point - we had more of a spring camp then almost any other program due to our early start. Most schools had 0 spring practice. Every team has had COVID issues and injuries. Why have some risen to the occasion and some not? ...

Re: Oline
I agree - he hasn’t looked comfortable. I see frustration at times. I am not sure if this is because of his play, the system, or the play calling. Zach took some time to get comfortable in Drinks system. His hesitance was tangible. It was obvious he was having to think rather than instinctively reac...

These stats from 2019 include games against UNC, SC, Louisiana twice, Ga South. This year's numbers are against Marshall and four teams with a combined 9 wins (no team with a winning record)

Re: Coastal -4.5
Bcoach - sorry if I misinterpreted your comment. When you said they had only beaten two teams with winning records I assumed you were implying that was a area we compared favorably. I think our loss was against the only quality opponent we have played. To me Marshal and Louisiana are comparable. CC ...

Re: Coastal -4.5
Sorry to say it again, but our offense has taken a huge step backward. The "this is what we do, stop us" philosophy went out the window at Middle Tennessee and won't work now. If Nebraska can't do it we can't. ZT looks bad because our run first (only?) offense includes incredibly unsophisticated pas...

Re: Game Day Thread! (including menu)
No disrespect Butch, but that is a pretty shallow analysis. We have clearly switched gears on offense and are running from tight splits. The fact that we are scoring through the air doesn’t mean we are opening the offense. Look what a struggling Troy did at Jonesboro. We have beaten bad teams. We wi...

Re: Game Day Thread! (including menu)
I am sorry, but I have to side with the concerned crowd. Our one solid opponent dominated us (worse than the score) and we have continued to play undisciplined, mistake prone football. App became a brand with coaches that demanded we do the little things right. Precision and execution. We continue t...

Just to the south of the Canyon and Flagstaff is Sedona. It is in the red rock valley along 89A and 179 (I think). It is a beautiful drive off the interstate with great scenery. Chapel of the Holy Cross is a neat visit. We have eaten at a little Southwestern place called Javelina (I think) that has ...

Re: Fans next game
I am content that although we don’t like it, health professionals are guiding our State’s response to the Pandemic. Perhaps the difference with outdoor events with over 10,000 normal capacity is the difficulty of maintaining adequate standards of distance at ingress, egress, restrooms, concessions a...

I am intrigued to see how many tickets we can sell and how many Apps will be at the bowl. Is there any indication of how many of the second ticket allocation we sold?

Re: Visual Impact
I wish the website would label this a Black Saturday, but unofficial works I guess! Another idea to build excitement is to have pictures of folks traveling to the bowl tweeted with the same hashtag (ie #appsgobowling) and fed to the school's website (athletic or regular. The way they did that for th...

The athletic promotions folks (I know they have their hands full....but) would serve the program well by declaring the bowl game a blackout or having everyone wear gold. I think we will have a very solid crowd. If we wear the same color it will show up better on television and for pictures which can...

I second Mast General Store in Valle Crucis. It is only 15 minutes from Boone, but the drive is through a beautiful pastoral valley and the original store a is classic general store with a pot belly stove which is still an active post office, black smith shop, one room schoolhouse, and the annex has...
